Soko ("we", "us") operates the Soko mobile application, a local classifieds marketplace for India. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
You provide: name, phone number, email (for sign-in via OTP), profile photo, city, gender (optional), business details for business accounts (company name, GSTIN, PAN — used only for verification), listing content (titles, descriptions, photos, price, location), messages you send to other users, activity posts (activity type, time, visibility radius, audience preference), reviews, and reports.
Collected automatically: approximate and (with permission) precise device location to show nearby listings and activities, device information (model, OS version, app version), and usage events (screens viewed, listings viewed) for product improvement.
Your public profile shows: name, photo, city, rating, review count, verification badge, account type, and company name (business accounts). Your phone number, PAN, GSTIN, and wallet balance are never publicly visible.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: service providers that host our infrastructure (Supabase — database and storage), map and geocoding providers to render maps, and authorities when required by law.
Location is used to center your feed and maps, attach a location to listings you post, and match activity posts to nearby users. Precise location is optional; you can post with an approximate area instead.
Listings, chats, and profile data are retained while your account is active. You can delete individual listings anytime. To delete your account and associated personal data, visit the account deletion page linked from the app store listing or contact us at the email below; deletion is completed within 30 days except records we must keep by law.
You may access, correct, or delete your personal data, and withdraw location permission at any time via device settings. Grievances are handled per the Information Technology Act, 2000 and DPDP Act, 2023 (India).
Soko is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
We will post updates to this policy in-app. Material changes will be notified.
